Marcia Lane’s School of Drama and Dance pupils are auditioning for roles in Mary Poppins and Sara is hoping that this is her big chance. But her rival Lizabeth also has her eye on the same role as Sara and she is prepared to go to extremes to make sure that the part is hers. Guess who gets the part – the cool headed Sara or the scheming Lizabeth? No doubt some young girls will find this a read to pass the time but the characters are somewhat two dimensional (Chloe, funny and extrovert; Lily with pushy showbiz mum; Bethany, secretive scholarship girl). Sara’s Big Chance is one of four titles in the ‘Stage School’ series, the others being Chloe Learns a Lesson , Lily Under Pressure and Bethany’s Song . It has TV drama written all over it. Nothing groundbreaking, but not intending to, I suppose.
